The crowded restaurant scene in Miami’d Midtown district proves a challenging setting to any newcomer. Four owners had a clear vision: to highlight the fresh, homemade approach of their food and ‘gelati’ by evoking the old ‘latterias’ of the Italian post-war expansion.
We delved into the fascinating history of Italy’s signage and illustration of the 50s and 60s, and did further research on the history of these communal stores where fresh dairy derivatives would be sold (from milk to cheese to gelato). The result is a nostalgic but vibrant, clean brand that harks back to Italy’s glorious design, while being thoroughly modern.
